The Powermap app with Statebook and PowerVision, developed by Interapt and built on the SiteSelect platform, just won The International Economic Development Council’s 2017 Excellence in Economic Development Award for New Media!
The award was presented at the IEDC Annual Conference in Toronto to the Interapt team and project partners Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, Statebook International, and QK4 Inc. Powermap combines GPS mapping linked to an economic database with drone-captured data for select Kentucky sites, and has already made an impact on economic development.
“[We] have been on the cutting edge of using technology to spur economic development, and it has dramatically increased our activity,” said Brad Thomas of Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives.
Interapt CEO Ankur Gopal agrees: “I’m proud of our development team for being recognized with this international award, and thankful for our newest coders in Eastern Kentucky who have helped us make SiteSelect and Powermap a success.”
Powermap only works for Kentucky sites, but the SiteSelect platform can be customized and deployed for economic developers in any geo-mappable American territory.
