I recently traveled to San Francisco to speak about wearables in the enterprise at this year’s Dreamforce conference – over 150,000 people from more than 90 countries.
An amazing experience. I learned a ton about new trends Salesforce has identified as high priorities for the enterprise. In particular, there were three takeaways from the conference that resonated with me the most:
1) Enterprise customers want wearables
Wearables are very high on Salesforce’s radar, because there is a tremendous amount of interest from enterprises to see how smartwatches and other wearable technology can make their employees more productive, reduce errors, and capture data.
2) Smart Analytics will drive new strategy
With this captured data, businesses can drive internal and external strategic changes throughout their organizations.
3) The Health Cloud will make us healthier
Salesforce’s Health Cloud seeks to help caregivers focus on patient relationships, not just records and billing systems, to make their patients healthier by making more informed health decisions. Many Health Cloud tools will be built on the App Exchange to provide deeper, real-time patient engagement. At Dreamforce, I presented Interapt’s Scribblit and Remote Physician (Google Glass) solutions as examples of these tools:
I’ve said before that new technology does not equal innovation–innovation occurs only when the user gains step-change benefits. Now that businesses can more easily implement and measure the impact of these newer, more effective tools, they can expect more game-changing innovation moving forward.
