Founded in 2000, the Idea Festival in Louisville has quickly become one of the nation’s largest innovation conferences, attracting well-known thinkers and innovators from all over the world to talk about everything from global water issues to the zombie apocalypse.
To kickoff the 2014 Idea Festival this week, the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and Kentucky Innovation Network hosted a Startup Kentucky tour of Nucleus Innovation Park facilities, including a visit to Interapt’s space in the Nucleus building. Interapt had stations setup for attendees to demo our Google Glass streaming software and LeapMotion hands-free interfaces, and as you would expect, everyone in attendance enjoyed interacting with them, as many were seeing the technology for the first time.
“It’s always great to see people from different backgrounds visit our space, especially when their curiosity turns into enthusiasm as they imagine all the possible applications for these high-tech tools and then pitch their ideas,” said Interapt’s Director of Operations, Hunter Gerlach. “While we do that kind of thinking every day at Interapt, it’s always nice to hear a fresh perspective on it.”
