The Interapt Blog’s Fall 2013 Recap

The fall season in 2013 has kept Interapt busy!  Here’s a rundown of what’s been happening, and what’s in store for the rest of the year:

LocalView

Most of us have likely used a popular Daily Deal site like Groupon or LivingSocial.  And yet, since 2008 the model for these services really hasn’t evolved.  Why should we have to buy deals?  Is there a way to reduce the friction involved in the mobile coupon redemption process?  The LocalView app, now live on the App Store and Google Play, looks to answer both of these questions before taking new features a step further by offering up local events–and allowing app users to rate and comment on all of it.  The result is a new kind of mobile app that is both simpler and more useful for anyone looking for a guide to the city, while also preferable for business owners who want the deals they push out to increase foot traffic and create repeat customers, not simply cut into their profits.  Interapt is quite proud to have developed the LocalView app, and we look forward to working with LocalView to continue iterating and improving on an already fantastic product!

40 Under 40

While we at Interapt are often lauding the guidance and direction given us by our Founder & CEO, Ankur Gopal, it was nice to see Business First of Louisville take notice as well.  Each year, Business First bestows upon forty business professionals the title of a “40 Under 40” honoree, to recognize both their personal career achievements as well as their significant philanthropic and charitable contributions to the local community.  Since Business First also awards 40 Under 40 to those whom they believe are likely to move and shake local industries in the coming years through disruption and innovation, including Ankur in this year’s 40 Under 40 class made a lot of sense.  Gopal was honored at a luncheon that included 40 Under 40 alums John Schnatter (founder and CEO of Papa John’s) and keynote speaker Heather Howell of Rooibee Red Tea.  Congratulations to our fearless leader, both for successfully guiding Interapt these past few years and for believing in our team every step of the way!

Growing the Interapt Team

Speaking of our team, Interapt is proud to welcome new and exciting additions!  Aaron Rosenberg recently accepted the position of Senior Director of Business Development; Hunter Gerlach completed his internship with Interapt and accepted a full-time position as Operations Manager; and Eddie Bowles, Interapt’s newest intern from U of L’s MBA program has joined as an Account Executive in our sales department.  We all look forward to building and growing Interapt with these qualified and talented new members of our team.  Look for future Interapt blog posts to come from all of these new arrivals, as the team brings you into our world and sheds a light on whatever catches our interest, both in the mobile tech world and in life!
