Technology How Interapt Helped Develop the WhyWait App

We are very proud to be the software solution provider behind WhyWait, the mobile app that gives diners and restaurants a direct connection to each other via real time push notification.

For diners, WhyWait will help them find out the wait time at their favorite restaurants, and hear about any new (or secret) specials that restaurant might be running at that given moment. Customers will receive only the information they want to know.

They can also use their social networks to share their location to their friends on Foursquare, Twitter, and Facebook. That works out to some pretty powerful word of mouth advertising for you.

For restaurants, if they’re having a slow night, the manager can make a snap decision to offer an attractive special for his or her customers, text that exclusive offer message to those targeted customers who have “favorited” their restaurant, and drum up some impulse customers who were just asking themselves, “where do you want to eat?” “I don’t know, where do you want to eat?”

The system is so easy, the wait staff can key in the specials as if they’re sending a text, so you can pick specials on the fly, based on demand, supply, and even seasonality. You determine what they specials will be and when they’ll happen.

WhyWait can help you save your hostess from all those calls asking about wait times. Instead, just broadcast them out to your loyal customers., and let them know how long they should wait.

We were excited to work on WhyWait for our clients. Their goal was to create a mobile app that could be used by both restaurants and diners, as a way to help cities promote their restaurant economy. This is just one more example of the type of mobile app work we like to do for their clients. Rather than just focusing on game and novelty apps that are made strictly to amuse, we wanted an app that could actually have an impact on the success of the users and even the community.

WhyWait is available for both Android and iPhone. You can find more information and download the WhyWait website.
